Maribel was born within Virginia and was a child of her parents and siblings, though details about them are scarce. As a teenager she was determined to pursue a career within the legal field in the hopes of becoming an attorney. Indeed, after she finished high school, she was admitted to the University of Virginia to pursue the major of German along with a minor in Foreign Policy. The school is considered to be one of the oldest universities within the US, dating its history to 1819 when it was founded by Thomas Jefferson, one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence. Over a century of programs are provided by the university and was constructed on the Jefferson's Academical Village - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its main campus is spread over 1600 acres while the research park and farm cover thousands of additional acres.
